Absract
Blockchain is a versatile technology that has gained great importance and spread during these last years. From cryptocurrencies to digital notary, the applications of blockchain concern a multitude of different areas. Several protocols have been developed for blockchains and several cryptographic tools have been used as well. In this talk, we focus in particular on a cryptocurrency - Monero - which just celebrated its eight-year anniversary. In particular, we will explore the cryptographic fundamentals of its protocol, giving an overview of its main features.
Short Bio
Michela Ceria got her PhD in 2014 at University of Turin. She worked as postdoc at University of Trento (2015-2018) and Milan (2018-2020). From December 2020 she is a researcher at Politecnico di Bari. Her research activity focuses on Computer Algebra, with applications to Coding Theory, Cryptography and Algebraic Statistics. She also works on q-matroids and finite geometry.
