Automation loop for connect-compute platforms: on-going and future works

In this seminar I will present ongoing and forthcoming activities at the networks and IoT systems of Cnam, Paris, France, on the development of a network automation framework. It leverages on thousands of time-series related to the monitoring of network and system software components for different use-cases. I will show case preliminary results on an anomaly detection system based on LSTM autoencoders applied on IP Multimedia Subsystems and 5G platforms. I will also present further work required to close the envisioned automation loop and to apply the framework to other use-cases.
Stefano Secci is professor of communication networks at Cnam, Paris, France. In 2010-2018, he was associate professor at LIP6, Sorbonne University (UPMC - Paris VI), France. He received the M.Sc. degree in communications engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2005, and a dual Ph.D. degree in information and communication technologies from Politecnico di Milano and Télécom ParisTech, France, in 2009. In 2010, he worked as Post-Doctoral Fellow with NTNU, Norway, and George Mason University, USA. Before the Ph.D., in 2005-2006, he worked as a research associate with Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada, and with Politecnico di Milano, and as a network engineer with Fastweb Italia, Italy. His current research activity spans from novel routing and switching architectures to network virtualization and protocol design. He is the head of the Network and IoT Systems research group at Cnam, Cedric.
